Chiyogami: August Bespoke Brooch Release

Chiyogami: August Bespoke Brooch Release

Mark your calendar! There is a new bespoke brooch collection underway in the Sass Artworks studio. It is one of my favourite releases yet.

This month is a Japanese inspired theme that has been a joy to create. Chiyogami is the traditional Japanese art of patterned paper and it is exactly the mood I have chased for this collection. Rich motifs, considered colour and pattern-on-pattern detail.

Your two favourite leading houndie ladies are making a new appearance. Jean Houndlow and Rita Houndworth are adorned in Chiyogami, reminiscent of traditional Japanese kimono artwork.

Whippets, greyhounds and Italian greyhounds have always been special to me. There's an elegance to that sleek silhouette and effortless line, whether they're mid-zoomie or curled up on the couch. Chiyogami patterns have that same sense of considered beauty, so pairing the two felt like an obvious next chapter for Jean and Rita.

Each brooch is singularly printed onto laser cut wood and hand finished in resin, which means every piece is one-of-one. No two will ever be printed exactly the same. The nature of my process means subtle variations are part of the uniqueness of each brooch.

With limited numbers across both signature designs, these will not last long once launched.

Set your alarm for 8pm, Wednesday 19th August. I cannot wait for you to see the full range.
